Barriers Matched to the Product
Chocolate takes up odours and loses aroma through the wrong material, and a high-fat filling will grease through an unlined board within a week. We select liners, laminates and coatings for the actual product — grease resistance, moisture barrier, odour barrier, and whether it must survive a freezer or a warm delivery van — and provide the technical data. Getting this wrong is the most expensive mistake in confectionery packaging, and it is invisible until the customer complains about taste.
Low Minimums, Real Choice
Custom printed boxes start at two hundred and fifty rather than ten thousand, which lets a small workshop have proper packaging instead of a stock box with a sticker on it. Digital printing carries the short runs and litho takes over when volume justifies it, with the same files and colours, so growth does not mean starting the artwork again. Seasonal variants and limited editions become possible, which is where a great deal of small-producer revenue actually comes from.
Inserts That Fit Your Pieces
Every chocolatier's pralines are a slightly different size, and a generic insert either grips them so tightly the decoration is damaged or lets them slide into one another in transit. We measure your actual pieces, cut prototype inserts, send them to you to fill and shake, and adjust before tooling. Card, moulded pulp and clear alternatives are all available, and we will tell you honestly when a plain corrugated divider is the sensible answer.
Built for the Seasonal Peak
Confectionery lives or dies on a handful of weeks in the year, and packaging arriving late in the first week of December is a catastrophe rather than an inconvenience. We plan seasonal orders months ahead with agreed delivery dates, hold stock for staged call-off so a small workshop is not storing pallets, and keep reprint capacity deliberately free in the peak weeks for the customer who has sold out early and needs another thousand boxes.
Recyclable Where It Genuinely Is
Plenty of packaging described as recyclable is a laminate that no facility will separate. We work with mono-material board, water-based coatings and papers that carry a real barrier without a plastic film, and we say plainly when a product's shelf life requires a material that cannot be recycled cleanly. Customers who want to make a claim on their box receive the documentation to support it, because unsupported claims are now a regulatory risk as well as an ethical one.
Prototypes You Can Hold
No structural design is signed off from a screen. We cut physical samples on a plotter, in the intended board, and send them so you can fill them with real chocolates, close them one-handed at a counter, put them in a bag and post one to yourself. Problems that never appear in a rendering — a lid that needs two hands, a box that will not stack, a window that fogs — all become obvious in about four minutes.
